Strain Index · Changelog

Every time we changed how the number is made.

The DELAX Global Strain Index is one number for whether world conditions are tighter than usual. This page lists every change to how that number is built: what went in, how it was measured, and why we changed it. It records changes to the method, not changes in the world.

What this means for you

Readings from different versions are not directly comparable. If you compare today’s figure with one quoted weeks ago, check which version each came from. The history chart on the dashboard recalculates every past day under the version in use now, so its line is one method from end to end; if it ever mixes versions, it marks the change with a dashed line.

Nothing is rewritten in silence. Every figure the site first showed is kept exactly as it was shown, together with the version that produced it, and the database refuses to change it later.

What to watch: a new entry at the top of this list. Each one says what changed and why, in plain words.
